LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION INFORMATION WITH HELPFUL TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR REGISTRATION

You must be 15 or turning 15 within 30 days of the beginning of the course.

For more courses and pre-requisites, contact us today.

When you are registered and paid in full, please complete the online portion prior to arriving the first day of class and bring a copy of your letter of completion or email it to us before the course. . . You will be able to go back and review the very informative videos for as long as you remain certified.

VIP The email that contains the link to take the written portion and tests will say SalesForce. Open the link and create a password that you will use when you want to go back online to review right before the course...which is highly recommended. Your email address will already be set-up as your username. Save your work as you go and if you take a break, take a picture or screenshot of your computer in case it kicks you off.

If you will need more than a 5 minute break, please log off and log back in when you are ready to start back. There is no time limit as long as this portion is completed prior to the morning of August 16th. It is much easier to complete the online portion with a computer instead of your cell phone. Call Red Cross for online help with this course at 800 733-2767. For any other general questions about the course, please contact Ship Shape Water Fitness Specialists, LLC as we are an authorized provider for the American Red Cross.

This course delivers all the information you'll need to become a safe, effective lifeguard for two years. You can then just take a review course.

The prerequisites are attached in the brochure but here is the list you will need to complete to be eligible for the rest of the training course.

  1. Make sure you're a strong swimmer and have swam 300 continuous yards recently.
  2. Retrieve a 10# brick from the bottom of the pool 7' deep and swim 25 yards face up with it on your chest. If your head goes under the water, you'll be given 1 more chance so please practice.
  3. Tread water for 2 minutes with arms across your chest.
  4. Pull yourself out of the pool without using a ladder.

After you've completed the online course and passed the prerequisites, you will spend most of the time with me in both shallow and deep water skills.

CEPRO professional rescuer CPR, AED, and first aid are included in this course.

We look forward to meeting you and are encouraging you to join our mission by helping others to stay safe in and around the pool.
